Our team behind yours
The directors of Teak Construction Group bring a broad range of skills and knowledge to the company. All the directors are shareholders, sharing the same vision for the ongoing expansion and prosperity of the company. They are fully involved with the day-to-day running of projects, providing immediate decisions and personal service.
Wayne Birchall
Managing Director
Wayne started in the construction industry at the age of 18 and gained several decades of experience working in NZ and the UK before joining Teak Construction Group in 2013.
He brings with him a wealth of experience at all levels of construction companies, from apprentice and foreman, to site manager, construction manager, and general manager. His no-nonsense, solutions-focused attitude is a great driver behind Teak Construction Group’s consistently high-quality output.
Outside of work, he’s a die-hard fan of Chelsea Football Club.
Stuart Charlton
Director
Stuart worked in the construction industry in New Zealand and overseas for many years before coming to Teak Construction Group in 2008. His diverse experience has helped Teak Construction Group secure large projects in several sectors, from government contracts to high-rise residential.
His hands-on, relationship focussed approach helps ensure all of Teak Construction Group’s projects run smoothly and on time.
Outside of work, Stuart enjoys boating, surfing, and spending time with his family.
Sam White
Commercial Director
Sam started his career in construction as a roofer in Auckland. He retrained as a quantity surveyor and joined Teak Construction Group in 2001, back when there were only five people in the office.
He quickly became a director at the age of just 34 after 9 years with the business. Sam is now focused on improving efficiencies and systems to ensure Teak Construction Group can continue to deliver high-quality projects on time, and on budget. He’s also dedicated to creating an environment where employees can flourish and become masters of their craft.
Outside of work, he’s a keen kiteboarder and loves reeling in big snapper in the Hauraki Gulf.
